Thank You To Our Participants, Volunteers, Sponsors & Donors
Thank you to everyone who participates in, volunteers for, sponsors, and donates to the upcoming 33rd annual R4 - and our 2nd event at Holiday Mountain.
R4 2024 was a great success for the charities we benefit. We cleared $100,000.00! We had a beautiful day at an amazing venue, with good feedback on the new course and the volunteers who supported it.
We are grateful to the amazing staff at Holiday Mountain that worked so hard to get the site ready, amidst their own ongoing renovation.
We had some logistics challenges with traffic and parking that we will solve this year to the best of our ability— while always making safety our priority.
Thank you all for choosing to matter. See you June 14th, Saturday!!
- Suzy Loughlin, Race Director
The R4 moved to Holiday Mountain Ski Area.
99 Holiday Mt. Road (Exit 109 or 107 East; Exit 108 West).
We have a new USTAF Certified Course. — Runners, it is fast and flat, meandering along side the Neversink River. The scenery doesn’t disappoint. Walkers, you will love it because you will get to see your friends and family coming back towards you and be able to cheer them on. And remember- this is for charity. This event benefits patients diagnosed with blood cancer and other acute catastrophic illnesses. By participating, you are choosing to matter!
Course Record - 2024:
Female - Skylar Musa, Grahamsville, NY, TIME: 17:33
Male - Vann Moffett, Niantic, CT, TIME: 15:05
Founded in 1993 by Suzy Rhulen Loughlin and a team of dedicated volunteers, the R4 first benefitted the American Heart Association. The battle to cure leukemia became a personal one for Suzy and her family, when in 1998, her father, Walter Rhulen, died of leukemia. Walter was a dedicated runner, committed to the health of his community. His loss inspired the R4 alliance with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In 2013, another tragedy resulted in the death of Suzy’s son Trevor, 21. The Trevor Loughlin Foundation, fueled by the force of a parent who wants her child to be remembered, and the friends and family who support her and the TLF mission, raises funds and awards grants to patients fighting blood cancer and other acute catastrophic illnesses.

Who we benefit.
We have donated over $1,700,000 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Trevor Loughlin Foundation, and several local and national charities that are important to the journey and quality of life of our patient beneficiaries.
Since 2013, the Trevor Loughlin Foundation has issued 156 patient grants to help with the financial challenges that accompany a catastrophic illness, like blood, brain, bladder, breast, colon, lung, and rectal cancer, to name a few.
We’ve also added 760 heroes to the international bone marrow bank.
